Are we closer to Jarvis (helpful assistant) or HAL9000 (overzealous)?
Comoditisation of LLMs seems closer. New models are released every day, and new architectures are explored to bring the HW requirements down.
Not only, models are more affordable but several software are emerging that propose private embedded LLM support.
A few notable projects are:
- VSCode, a swizz army knife for any software project; it provides endpoint for common LLMs and integrated them seamlessly within the workflow.
- Obsidian, a mix between a vault and notebook; allows integration with local and cloud-based networks to browse and summarise notes easily.
- Anything-LLM, a super interesting project to bring any LLM on any PC, so that you can really have your own personal LLM.
I haven't included in the list software like Cursor, because in my brief experience, I have seen mainly cloud-based options.
I'll try these out, and explore the boundaries of what they can do and their usefulness, and keep you updated :)
Do you know other cool projects?
